What exactly is The Yard?
The Yard is a dog park and social club in Columbus, Georgia – built for dogs, welcoming for humans, and powered by Paws Humane Society. You hang out, dogs play, and your visit supports a really good cause.
Is this a regular dog park?
Not really. Think off-leash play meets community hangout.
Dogs must be vetted and have a membership to enter, we have a coffee and beverage bar, and we host great community events – so we think it’s a little better than your average dog park.
Do I have to bring a dog to come?
Nope! Dog lovers without dogs are welcome too. Fair warning: you may leave wanting one.
Do I need a membership?
Humans are always free, because this is a membership for your dog. If you’re just visiting without a dog, no membership is required.
If you have a dog you’d like to bring, we offer yearly, monthly, and daily memberships!
Questions Your Dog Might Ask
Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
Yes. All dogs must be up to date on required vaccinations before entering The Yard. Safety first, zoomies second.
Are there size or breed restrictions?
No! Dogs of all breeds and sizes are welcome at The Yard – as long as they can play nice with others.
We even have a separate small dog area for people who would prefer to keep their little guys seperate.
Is staff on-site while dogs are playing?
During peak hours, staff may be on-site to help with memberships and hospitality. While we’re happy to support our members, pet parents must remain attentive and responsible for their dogs at all times.
Does my dog have to be fixed?
Yes, all dogs over 8 months of age must be spayed or neutered in order to be a member of The Yard.
Dogs over 8 months old often show increased territorial behavior due to hormonal surges and sexual maturity. The Yard can act as a stressful, overstimulating place for a dog at this age that is not spayed/neutered.
Do dogs need to be supervised by their humans?
Yes. You know your dog best, and we’re a team out there.
While you’re not required to shadow or follow your dog around, please remain aware of them.
Are leashes required?
Leashes are required in designated areas and during entry and exit. Once inside approved play zones, dogs can run free and leashes are not allowed.
Harnesses are permitted if your dog comes to The Yard wearing one.
Answers for the humans
Is The Yard family-friendly?
Yes! We welcome responsible humans of all ages. Some areas or events may be 21+, but we’ll always make that clear.
Please keep in mind, that Fridays & Saturdays after 5pm are for humans 16+ in age.
Do you serve food and drinks?
Yes! Offerings may vary, but you can expect coffee, drinks, and good reasons to stick around.
We have visiting food trucks daily so there’s always something new and delicious to try!

Can I access The Yard when staff isn't present?
Current members can access The Yard between 6am-11pm using their key fob.
